What I think about Summer Infant Day and Night Baby Monitor

by Miriam

Hi Mums,

I have been getting a lot of questions about Summer Infant baby monitors over Angelcare. Many mothers have been emailing me asking my opinion so I thought id put up a post on this. Firstly, let me just say straight off the bat that while these two products are absolutely fantastic they serve two different purposes. For my needs I tend to favor the Angelcare monitor range. This is due to a near close encounter my baby had with SIDS (see about me page).

In light of this fact I also believe that each parent does have they own certain need and preference so they wouldn’t necessarily agree with me and that’s alright with me. So, I will just state the main facts then you can decide for yourself what best suits your baby.

Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video

  • This is the best selling monitor of the summer infant range.
  • Has a 1.8 inch color monitor, now most of you would think that 1.8 is relatively small but its great considering it’s portability and picture quality is clear.
  • Clarity is super with no interference detected. It operates on 900MHz frequency levels so no static from microwaves, ell phones, TV’s etc.
  • Rechargeable batteries last up to 10 hours or you could just use the AC adapter chargers that it comes with.

This is a great monitor because not only is it digital but is a video monitor as well. Video monitors are usually always preferred over various other monitors because you can always see baby when the need arises.

If you have visitors and baby is asleep you don’t have to go into the nursery and disturb baby, the video monitor in all its clear color is a great substitute.

What makes it better than other digital video monitors? Well, besides its awesome portable design, it’s also creative and trendy to suit baby rooms. I find that its affordable and of high quality, we mothers always enjoy value for money so this is a plus.

Higher priced video monitors usually have the same features as this one except for their larger screens. I find larger screens bulky, unnecessary and annoying especially if you’re always busy around the house.

I personally like this monitor as well and it would definitely be my choice if I were looking for a video monitor. There are excellent reviews on this particular monitor and some of my friends even swear by it.

Angelcare was my preference and while it doesn’t have a video I was fine with that. Personally, I prefer my baby’s breathing to be monitored rather than me looking at the screen every 2mins.

Good Luck with your decision ladies hope this post helped.
