About
Like all mothers who care for the safety and well-being of their children, I am honoured to set up a webpage dedicated to this very course. Upon being given the wonderful task of being a mum to two beautiful children, Hannah age 4 and Marcus age 6 months, I realized straightaway my protective instincts as a new mother. Most if not all mothers feel this kind of protection upon their children, it’s a protective instinct that not even fathers would dare challenge.
In spring of 2006 my daughter Hannah was attacked by the horrible SIDS phenomena (sudden infant disorder syndrome). For those mothers who do not know what this is, well it is when your child stops breathing usually while asleep and dies for no other reason other then its respiratory system ceases without any struggle or warning signs from the child. Many new mothers have experienced this tragedy before and let me just say that my heart and support goes out to you all.
In my case I was fortunate enough to check on Hannah during her attack and was able to support her breathing until the help arrived. The long nights that followed were full of paranoia and I made sure Hannah was by my side all the time. As a result I had invested in an Angelcare baby sensor mat monitor I found this really reassuring knowing that an alarm would sound if my baby stopped breathing. That only seemed to help a little bit though. At times my husband would tell me that every time he woke up all he could see was my bum as I was peering into the moses basket checking all was ok!!!!
To save mothers the pain, stress and worry that I and many other mothers went through, I decided to build a site that advises mothers and mothers to be on the best baby monitor that could help prevent such a tragedy from ever occurring.
This site is dedicated to my children Hannah and Marcus who are my inspiration.
